Temporary Residence Visas - Source Documents.

On this page you will find the necessary information regarding the Source Documents needed for your Application for Temporary Residence Visas (TRV). 

These documents will be necessary for any of the Visa Categories you will be applying for.

Applying through South African Embassies/Missions - Main Supporting Documents required for each Applicant:

1. BI-1738 (SA Embassy) application form - form underneath for download
2. Copy of Passport/s
3. Foreign Police Clearance (New application through SA Embassies & applicants over 18 years) & from each country you stayed in for 12 months or longer during the last 5-years at time of your application.
4. Copy of Birth Certificate - for children applying together with their Parents.
5. Copy of Marriage Certificate - if married
6. Copy of Divorce Decree/Certificate - if previously married
7. Copy of Death Certificate - if late spouse passed away
8. Medical Certificates 

Applying in South Africa through VFS Global for your Temporary Residence Visa extension/renewal (TRV):

1. Online VFS Application form together with your proof of payment and Appointment Letter
2. Copy of Passport/s
3. Copy of current Temporary Residence Visa/s
4. South African Police Clearance Certificate - applicants over 18 years (VFS offices offer this service for an additional          R185.00 per applicant)
5. Medical Certificate - (no longer required) 
6. Radiological Report - (no longer required) 
7. Copy of Birth Certificate - only necessary for children applying together with their Parents
8. Copy of Marriage Certificate - if married
9. Copy of Divorce Certificate/Decree - If previously married
10. Copy of Death Certificate - if late spouse passed away
